Homeschooling provides a fantastic foundation for the many paths available to youth following high school!

When viewing admission requirements you will want to note both the institution's general admission policies (required of ALL students) as well as program specific requirements.

Some post-secondary institutions actively welcome students who do not follow Alberta Program of Studies through high school:
Concordia University College of Alberta actively recruits home educators and offers specialized entrance requirements for homeschool students.  Click here to read the email

King's University College also offers alternate entrance requirements for homeschoolers

Athabasca University is an open university, there are no pre-requisites to take individual courses

Lakeland College has a special admissions policy that may work well for home schooled students

Other post-secondary institutions require completion of specific Grade 12 subjects for admission, but in most cases not a high school diploma.  Many of these offer the opportunity to upgrade high school classes if needed.

Northern Alberta Institute of Technology - each program has specific requirements which must be met.  Most programs require at least ELA30-2 and some combination of maths and sciences.  Some programs do not require 30-level high school classes.
NAIT Entrance Requirements

Lethbridge College - appears similar to NAIT with no general admissions requirements, and program specific requirements vary but most allow ELA30-2 and some combination of two or three maths & sciences. Some programs do not require 30-level high school classes.

SAIT Polytechnic - program specific requirements - Alberta High School Diploma required for most programs

University of Alberta - "Admission to most UAlberta programs requires that specific high school
requirements are met whether you come directly from high school or from another post-secondary institution", including ELA 30-1 and four more 30 level courses.

Grant MacEwan University - five 30 level subjects including ELA30-1

Mount Royal University - five 30 level subjects including ELA30-1.  "Home schooled applicants who present recognized secondary credentials, or by some other mean satisfy admission requirements, will be considered  for admission to Mount Royal."

There are many more post-secondary institutions you may wish to consider, and it is always a good idea to contact each institution directly to clarify policies.
